Moving the clock back an hour or ahead an hour affects sleep patterns dramatically. The fact is that daylight savings affects your body, sleep, and general well-being.

Thanks BB. I've noticed it for sure. I really don't like daylight savings time.

Springing forward in the Spring seems to really mess with my body and mind more so than falling back. It seems the older I get the worse the affects are for me. It takes me about a week to adjust to springing forward.

That is great advice, BB!

I'm fortunate in that I work at home. I go to sleep when I'm sleepy and I sleep until I wake up naturally. So I have a very good relationship with sleep. I rarely have to force myself to go to bed at a certain time, or fall asleep at a certain time, for outside reasons.

For me, going to bed at the same time wouldn't work, because I'm not sleepy at the same time every night. Some nights I'm sleepy early and go to sleep early. Other nights I'm full of energy and stay up longer. Maybe my body is odd smile.

Thanks for your comments! The older I get, the tougher the impact daylight savings has on me. Takes me several days to readjust to the time change.

I find that part of what works well for me is to exercise each day. If I exercise, I tend to fall asleep easily. If I don't exercise, my body's just not necessarily that sleepy when I get to the end of a day.

I hope this stops before I die. It is annoying and stupid to continue doing this. It serves absolutely no purpose other than to mess with us all. For me it never stopped me from sleeping but it is a lot of stress especially when the time changes happens when I have sport on television (almost 100% of the time), I have to check many times those days and open the television so much in advance just in case I miss the start.
