This year I forgave my ex-husband for the hurts he caused me, and for divorcing me against my will. It took four years for me to be able to do this, and only after I realized the pain he was in when he finally came to realize what he had done. It was important for his healing that I forgive him, and in doing so I also found peace and healing.
Just as God forgives us, we have to forgive others. It is the only way out of the pain we are in, even if what happened to us was wrong and caused us great distress.
