My heart broke this week when I learned of the passing of Robin Williams. Although many loved him for his comedic side, I appreciated more his serious side, especially when portraying characters such as Chris Nielsen in the movie "What Dreams May Come". This movie dealt much with the spirit world.
Even in his interviews I could sense a kind and gentle soul. It is sad that Robin battled things such as depression, addiction, and the onset of Parkinsons Disease, and felt there was no way out of his pain but to take his own life. To me it seems like such a waste of a good man who affected so many people in a positive way. Perhaps he hid too much behind his humor, and he did not have the strength to keep it up anymore.
I will certainly miss him, and my heart goes out to his family and friends. I hope Robin finds the peace he so craved and deserved.
