I think it would be worth it if you charged enough rent to pay a property management firm to do the heavy lifting, and still make a small profit beyond that. I think it might even possible to make your rental property pay off its own mortgage through the rent you'd be charging. That would be ideal.
You are so right, Ro. Tenant rent paying off the mortgage is a big plus as long as they don't cause big damage. Property management firms do great work although I have heard some stories where firms have cheated their clients. Fortunately, I think this is fairly rare.
