My wife and I are just back in the Caribbean after two weeks with our son and his three Norwegian children in Norway and Sweden. Perfect weather - 31 degrees Centigrade: the same as it was here but with no humidity. Most people I speak with assume that we must have been cold, but I lived in shorts and flip-flops (and shirt), and only wore a coat on nights. The grandchildren (aged 13, 10 and 3) went swimming at the caravan Park outside Stockholm, during our three-day visit there. Today I phoned my son, and caught him on his way with a couple of friends for a swim in Oslofjord, off Bygdoy. He was brought up on our Caribbean island (Grand Cayman), but has adjusted well to the Scandinavian lifestyle. There's a lot to be said for it!
