Have you ever been on a timed interview? It may become the new trend. In an effort to be more efficient and cut down on mindless ramblings (or painful silence), interviewers are informing candidates of the amount of time that has been set aside for the interview. Some hiring managers also use it to determine how well you manage your time.
"We've allotted an hour for this interview, there are about 12 questions, please keep this in mind so you can manage your response time."
Bottom line - Don't ramble, keep your answers friendly, but succinct.
