The cultivation of oil palms have devastated Indonesia & Malaysia through deforestation, habitat degradation, animal cruelty, climate change, and indigenous rights abuses. At this time in Costa Rica oil palms are only planted on existing farm land. There is a huge demand for palm oil, but it needs to be produced sustainably.
