I just read and reviewed One Calamitous Spring: A Novel of Santa Fe by Edward F. Mendez. Mendez writes with a hint of influence of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and his hallmark Magical Realism. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it highly.

I was going to write about one of my favorite authors, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014. I decided that my Garcia Marquez article should wait until I move on from the initial emotions caused by his not unexpected death.

Book TV featured the San Antonio Book Festival and showcased some of the local Hispanic authors. I didn't get to watch as my husband was into hockey.

Hi Angie,

Sounds great. I never have heard of Book TV. I need to get cable! Ugh.

I love San Antonio though. Next year that might be a good time for a trip!
