I often think about the disciples at the foot of the cross watching Jesus suffer and die and then I wonder how I would have felt had I been there.

I think about them too - from different view points - and come up with different answers. Even though I have the whole story and the Holy Spirit, I'm not sure I would have understood any better than they did.

I agree. We would have been fascinated by the things Jesus said and the miracles He performed but we would probably would not have understood.
