I am reading Our America, Hispanic History of of the United States by Felipe Fernández-Armesto

I've only read the first chapter. it is recounting the history of the Spanish settlement in the new world. When we attend lectures about Jamestown, the Spanish are always mentioned - the Spanish and the English were always rivals.
