Hi Carolyn,
Loved your article ... but as I am not much of a beer drinker I cannot describe my beer mood. We have a light beer here called Miller's that I enjoy but it is not to everyone's taste. Many say it's like a cool drink and just for sissies! Their loss!
Anyway, here is some Latin for you to use next time you go to the pub!
You have heard of 'Carpe diem' as Horace's Seize the day ... well you can say 'Corripe cerevisiam' for Seize the beer!
(Remember that c in Latin is always c as in cat.)
Then what about ordering a light beer by saying 'Da mihi sis cerevisiam dilutam.' and then at the end of the night or whenever you can say 'Re vera - potas bene!' which loosely translates to 's'truth! you sure are drinking a lot!'
Cheers with a smile
