Meditation has a practical and spiritual side - it is wholistic in that sense. All aspects of life are improved by both hugging and meditating ... any comments?
I am a hugger, but my husband's family is not. I have had to learn to respect their boundaries...for the most part, although I am sometimes seized by the huggie desire!
Connie, I like your post. I wonder if your husband's family is following a tradition. For example, here in Holland people give each other 3 kisses - cheek to cheek, left, right, left when meeting or leaving. In the states everyone in my family hugs upon meeting and leaving.
