Despite the best efforts of chocolate shops and florists Valentine's Day has still not become as popular in Germany as in other countries.

Instead it continues to have the reputation of a 'Hallmark' holiday, rather like 'National I Want Butterscotch Day' and 'Secretary's Day'......but that doesn't mean Germans are not romantic.

This says:
"Even though some people may no longer be in your life, they remain in your heart forever."

And it is a year long sentiment.
