We found our first lovebird caught in the net that we used to cover our backyard pond. She was just a baby. Nobody claimed her. That was six years ago.
One characteristic of lovebirds is their independent spirit. Skye Burdine Beakman is one of a kind. She's the queen of the biter brigade at our house. Did I mention that lovebirds bite...and draw blood? Burdine is loved and cherished, even though she has a wicked little beak and knows how to use it.
I look forward to seeing the feral lovebirds in Arizona one day.
