Hello there,

How often do you visit your nursery or garden centre? Do you go at least monthly? Do you chatter much to the staff there? You know, ask questions and get advice - or do you sort of lurk by just buying what is in season and on display and then coming home to plant it.

I love going to the nursery and have long talks to my nurseryman Mike. He helps me a great deal. Cheers now.

I am an impatient gardener, I have said it before - I suppose many are - and to this end I generally prefer to buy seedlings and plantlets from the nursery to get going with anything.

Now I know there are so many others (more I am sure) that prefer to grow from seed. And there are many good reasons for doing so - amongst them being organic ones, heirloom seed ones and gardener satisfaction ones.

Yes, I do grow from seed, especially vegetables, but when it comes down to it I do go the seedling route most often.

Which do you prefer? Or are you a sane person that mixes and matches accordingly? Smile now!
