For those that celebrate this holiday with family and friends, it is a good time to look within and to be grateful for all of your blessings both large and small. Gratitude is essential for peace and happiness.

I wish you all a wonderful day.

A lot of Peace and Quiet and Rest and Relaxation.

Just the two of us Connie and I.

Very not-traditional.

We cooked all day cabbage rolls yesterday and banana bread.

Actually got the bananas from the tree in the back yard !

No noise no relatives and no deadlines.

Peace and Quiet.

Five (5) cats and a bird.

Many times that is worse than having children because they are completely dependent forever - how ironic !!!

I lived with my aging parents until they passed because that's the reason they had kids was to care for them in old age.

I was the youngest, so I helped them with their little business and cared for them as they were my child.

Basically, I never left home which could be viewed as perverted or strange like failure to launch, but I was told and demanded by my mom at 8 yrs. old to never leave the family business so I guess I took it to heart.

I had a live-in uncle who did the same - cared for the parents until they passed.

He never married and I got together with Connie late in life at the age of 39 yrs.

So, I guess I followed the family tradition.

The business pretty much runs itself now with a tax lady overseer and managers that barter their responsibilities for rent.

Everything is in a trust.

I've never liked people or society and just want privacy and to be left alone.

I have that now.

I wanted spiritual things and God has provided the material things that are necessary.

No need to hustle and bustle and hate and compete.

I gave it all up to be quiet and listen to God and let him and her do the rest.

Great pics, Burt! Nice to have the quiet too. I wish I had that here but I was out and about. It was pleasant enough.

Nothing wrong with taking care of aging parents. Better than them being abused or neglected in a convalescent home. It unfortunately happens.... I am sure I will be doing the same for my mother some day if she needs the help. Out of love we find the strength to do for them what they once did for us.

Sorry I missed the 3pm meal call. Do you have leftovers? I may be able to make it tonight!
