Hi all,

With Christmas around the corner, we find that the Dollar Tree Store is a great way to find inexpensive decorations. We find that we have to be careful though. Sometimes that $1 wrapping paper is not always a great deal, in quality or amount of paper on the roll.

When the kids were younger, I used to pick a specific paper...to wrap each of their gifts...for example, all of my daughters gifts would be wrapped in the Barbie paper and all of my sons gifts were wrapped in car paper. The Dollar Tree store was perfect for that.

Do they have Dollar Trees or Dollar Stores in your area and if so, do you shop there?

Hi Dianne,

We have Dollar Tree stores here and I love them. I buy most of my toiletries there - hand soap, shampoo, etc - since I don't want fancy brands of those things. I get a lot of cleaning stuff there too. I've also bought glassware, coffee mugs, kitchenware - and it's all been perfectly good quality.

The Dollar Tree is one of mankind's best inventions.

Just moved to a new apartment and have NOTHING in it. All my housewares are in Arizona. So I was able to get a bunch of kitchen, bathroom and livingroom things for one dollar each.

I like that there's food too, and a sort of rotating stock of whatever they get in at the time.

I find it great for seasonal decorations. I've never been a big holiday decoration kind of person -- partly because it seems like a waste -- but I have a child who LOVES to decorate. The Dollar Tree is the perfect place to pick up centerpieces or door hangers for minor holidays!

Brandi, that is so true about inexpensive decorations and holiday goodies.

You can even get wedding stuff there!

What did people do before The Dollar Tree?

The Dollar Tree has a lot of actually pretty and useful office supplies there - the same stuff they sell at Staples or CVS for 5-10 dollars. It astounds me how much money you can save at a real dollar store.

There is a new dollar store in my little town. It's a small one called Dollar Stop. I was so pleased to see it here - stores simply don't survive in this town.

I supported them by buying a few things for my truck. I hope their store makes it.

Last night I picked up some clear shoeboxes, and a few sets of pretty sticky notes.

I am using the boxes to organize my car, my gear closet, and my bathroom. The sticky notes are good for labels.

I love having things organized clearly, by type, and with labels. The dollar tree is the cheapest and most reliable place to get these shoe boxes.

I got some colored duct tape. They have so many designs and colors now - it makes putting labels on things super easy, and the colors are pretty (unlike the typical grey duct tape). I was so happy to find all those for only a buck each.
