It's the First Sunday of Advent, and time to light a candle on the Advent Wreath. One for each of Advent's four weeks so on the fourth Advent Sunday all of them will be burning.

'Die Adventskraenze' are just one of many traditions that are part of Christmas in Germany, and for more of what happens in the days that lead to Christmas Eve just follow the link:

Advent Wreaths and an Advent in Germany

Advent, Advent, ein Lichtlein brennt,
Erst eins, dann zwei, dann drei, dann vier,
dann steht dan Christkind vor der Tuer

Advent Advent, a little light burns,
First one, then two, then three, then four,
Then the Christ Child stands in front of the door
