Usually these are caused by events of the day, psychological 'issues' or brain chemistry alteration through diet or illness. If you become conscious in one then it can be both helpful and powerful to face the fear and learn from it. The Senoi/Jungian dreamwork techniques are particularly useful for this.

This suggests either a long period of stress or health (physical or mental) issues. If you want to look into the techniques for working with dream images- good or bad- then this book may be a useful starting place. Hope that helps

Thank you Ian for the link to your wonderful article. I too have had dreams of deceased loved ones. I have not gone to the other side that I am aware of, but I did have valuable communication and even had some questions answered. I think the more you are open to it the more of a chance you will have of having experiences like this. Thanks for sharing!
