In an ironic life twist, today I had cold, hot and sour soup!
The electricity went out at work and there was no way to heat the soup.

I'm having some of my "value added" soup. It's a can of chicken noodle soup with carrots, celery, onions, cilantro and tiny shrimp added. It's tasty and relatively healthy...if you don't count the sodium!
The veggies are cooked al dente before the soup is poured in. Then, I add the frozen shrimp to cool the whole thing down from boiling. It takes 10 minutes!

Snow peas and mushrooms would be good with this. So would baby corn.

This is a good way to use older salad greens. It gives a fresh taste to the soup.

Chicken noodle soup with greens, herbs, shrimp, fresh sweet corn kernels, celery, carrots, and baby squash slices. Top it off with dried seaweed.
