Self-help is to me, the best help!

What comes to mind is that movie, "What About Bob?"

Richard Drefuss (sp) says something along the lines of..."You know Bob, there's a saying, that the best psychiatrist lies within here (pointing to his head)."

Too true!

It puts you more, back in the seat of control.

Sometimes, especially when we're within (too much) our Selves, it's the externals that we work through, that can help the most! The learning lessons, the losses, etc.

They take us places we'd never've been, had we not learned what we did by going through the rough-stuff!

This is something I have stressed in my books on Wealth Magick and Love Magick . Without all-round self development you end up either chasing illusions, or trying to make the world fit the way you see it.

Elleise and Ian.....I like what you wrote. So true about self help! It is the only way I have survived hardship and loss in the last few years. I sought out what I needed to heal myself and to get through each day. I looked out for my needs first for once, and I gave myself a break when I really needed it. Knowing myself and sometimes making tough choices for my development has helped me to move forward.

I am not one in sinc with the world around me and I always felt different. But I have accepted who I am and why the world is how it is. I no longer try to force myself to fit into its craziness, like a square peg into a round hole. I try to instead go with the flow and only deal with what I must, instead looking to fortify my own peace and relationship with nature, one thing that is real and meaningful to me.

Personal finance has always been a tough one for me, and I have just given up with trying to attain what will never happen. It is no longer a priority for me and I can survive on very little. I still give away a little here and there to help the less fortunate, and in giving I receive in ways that are not financial.

Life success to me is achieving peace within myself, love, respect, and caring in my relationships, and an opportunity to live life the way I choose to in a calm and natural way, getting back to the basics and simplicity.
