Hi Lisa!

I was taught to knit at a young age in England. My family moved to New York from California 1 1/2 years ago and I want to teach my twins to knit. They will be 11 on 12/31 and I think it would be a great hobby for them to master.

I know my mum always started me off on BIG needles. Can you suggest a size of needle and wool. We would probably just do a simple knit and/or purl scarf to start with. They are very creative young ladies and I want to get them away from the computer for a bit. smile Any suggestions would be helpful.

Size 7 or 8 needles, with smooth worsted weight yarn. Kids usually like practicing with bright colors. I have an article with a few tips here:

Teaching children to knit

It is awesome you want to share this skill with them - keep us updated on how it goes!
