It is tough to eliminate those carbs!!! What DOES work is having cottage cheese on hand as it makes a quick breakfast or snack. That is this morning's breakfast. Cottage cheese topped with fresh nectarine. So refreshing in the summer, too. I'll be sure to keep cottage cheese in the refrigerator. Is there any downside to eating cottage cheese too frequently?

I never thought I'd love it but I've developed a liking to it.

I can't seem to keep my menus healthy without planning so here is my plan for the day:

Breakfast: cottage cheese, fresh nectarine slices (done!)
Snack-fresh cherries
Lunch-Indian food lunch w/ a friend
Snack-mini fruit salad w/ banana, grapes, blueberries
Dinner-Tofu salad

I forgot I have a lunch date at a great Indian food buffet. It's a mini buffet and I always skip the desserts. This time around, I will skip that luscious garlic naan and rice! My favs but I have to start sometime to eliminate white flour, sugar and quick carbs/grains. They'll always be everywhere!

I will have the salad, palak paneer, vegetable curry. Maybe a mini Samoosa w/ a bit of chutney. There's sugar in chutney though, isn't there? I might have to learn how to make my own natural juice chutney!

It is wonderful that you're making healthy choices! Yes, definitely, if I have something with sugar it starts up a sugar craving cycle. So it's better not to begin down that path smile

Thank you, Lisa. But I just returned from a four-day Vegas trip for the annual family and of course, we ate. I really did well all things considered. I didn't gorge myself at all. Stuck to small portions and did NOT sample everything (not even a small fraction) at those buffets.

My new lifestyle is becoming natural to me.

My son and I walked a lot, too, even though there was a severe thunderstorm that kept us indoors for one night.

So, I will resume posting my daily menu today.

Wow, it's been a while since I posted here. Got so distracted with my daughter, mom, aunt and husband's health. My diet has been fairly good all things considered. Not strict but fairly healthy.

I'm remembering to incorporate good things:

1. Vitamins.
2. Fish.
3. Fresh produce.
4 Lots of clean water.
5. Ayurvedic principles w/ healthful spices.

I told my family that the new watchword is PP. Produce and protein. My son ordered a pizza and that doesn't count. frown

Anyway, this morning it was green tea and fresh cherries.

Reducing the sugar, sugar substitutes, white flours, pastas! Moderation.

I'll be going out of town yet again for three nights and will enjoy my new lifestyle wherever I go.

That's awesome that it's becoming a habit for you now! It's simply a part of the way you eat smile. That's what taking care of yourself is all about!

I love your PP idea. You are so right. Healthy protein is key for every person, and good produce is full of important vitamins.

Thanks, Lisa! The PP doesn't sound good and people make fun of it so I'm changing it to PPP (protein, produce and plenty of water!)
