There are hundreds of new skills and procedures that you need to learn as you master a new job. Don't expect that you will be proficient overnight. With routines, your ADD outside-of-the-box problem solving skills, and creativity, learning a new occupation is a sure way of expanding your horizons.

I love all of the article however, these two stuck out for me "Take notes while learning" and "Ask for feedback". I worked with my son who has ADHD when he got his first job. These were the tips that helped him the most. Thank you for raising this point.

My tip for the day is to listen to a supervisor's feedback with an open mind. Implement the changes that they suggest.

A cheerful attitude can go a long way in helping you succeed in a new job.

Embrace all of the new learning that you can get. The more that you know and are able to do, the more valuable that you are to your company.

Be kind to yourself when you are learning a new job. You will make mistakes. Learn from them and move on. You don't need to fixate, or dwell, on what you did wrong. Just make it a learning moment.

Ask for feedback and listen to what is said. Also, take note of the progress that you are making!

Let your supervisors know that you are following their suggestions. You can say something like, "I appreciate that tip you gave me the other day. It really helps me work faster."
