[font:Verdana]I am a firm believer that our thinking influences our feelings and that when we notice bad feelings, we should take a hard look at what we are thinking.
For example...I can know that I am overweight, but how I think about that fact can determine my feelings. If I think that overweight = worthless or disgusting, then I will more than likely feel disgusting and worthless. If I think that overweight is just a number that doesn't signify value, then I am apt to be kinder to myself. I can then tackle the issue without so much negative self-talk.
I like Connie's idea of a list to try and replace the negative thoughts with better/truer ones. My experience is that this works, though it takes effort because we are often battling so much negativity.
