When I was a child, we had a marvelous couple of LP recordings of Danny Kaye reading fairy tales by Hans Christian Anderson. One favorite of mine was 'Nail Soup," about a tramp who finds a house lit up in the dark, and knocks on the door for shelter. This is my version of the soup in the story.

Much like Stone Soup.

Your thread title made me stop though because my grandmother would always try to gross me out . After she clipped her nails, she gathered them up and said she was going to make soup out of them. ick.

Different kind of nail, Lori! Sorry you have that association. Not nice, granny!

Yes, there's another tale called "Soup from a Sausage Peg" along the same lines.
Pretty interesting idea!

Anyhow, I hope you try this soup, it's really good and you don't need to use any nails of any kind! ;-)
