We have a few similar interests. I adopt dogs from the shelter. A few have passed.
But currently, I have three chi mixes.
Also, I enjoy yoga but I applaud you for being able to do Bikram. Wow. That is tough.
I'm trying to eat healthier but it's an on-going effort. I think if I begin and end my day with meditation, it would help immensely. I always feel a deep sense of peace and the food cravings melt away. I feel a sense of compassion and gratitude towards the food that goes into my mouth, with a strong urge to not consume meat.
