These can be animals you encountered in your actual world, or animals you helped out via petitions or other activities. Either way, you're interacting with our animal life world!

So far I have pet my kitty and chatted with my parakeet smile. I fed my keet some fresh bean sprouts too. In a little while I'll be going outside, where I have a variety of wild birds I feed. I have sunflower seeds, thistle, suet, and hummingbird nectar out, as well as a number of flowers.

What animals are in your world today?

Today I worked to help support penguins. A friend of mine runs a penguin advocacy site -

The Penguin Lady

And I do my best to help the cause.

Do you love penguins?

Today I donated $25 with Kiva to a group in Argentina to raise guinea pigs and chickens. Kiva does education with its members to ensure they handle animals humanely, so that seems a good thing to me. If people are going to raise animals, they should at least do so in a humane fashion.

For all purposes, I AM a feral cat sanctuary. I've been having great success lately with taming and re-homing feral kittens, and getting donations for spaying the feral adults. I finally have a trap to catch the adults that I got free through Amazon.

Once these two litters are done being tamed and homed, I will be working my way through the females first (ie- no net kittens). I have unlimited cheap spay vouchers I can use, but I still can't afford those. I am working on trying to find some kind of free program or grant.

That is wonderful, Jilly, that you are making such a difference for your area. There definitely should be a grant to help you out.

Great idea on the animal rescue daily click. That is a very easy way for people to help, and it costs nothing. smile

I am so excited today - I found homes for every one of the first feral litter today! I dropped off the last kitten from that litter this afternoon to a great home.

I also re-homed two kittens from the younger litter, so there are three left in that one. They need eye medicine, which i can't do right now, but hopefully their eyes will clear up on their own and then I can tame them and re-home those last three.

So that is eight less homeless wild kittens as of today, and exponentially hundreds less more kittens in this colony.

Since I took the last kitten from the one feral momma today, I need to trap and spay her soon, before she gets knocked up again. This is my goal for next week.

I haven't been updating here, but I did my clicks for the day. It's so amazing that spending twenty seconds clicking on a few links can feed people and animals and provide other services. Imagine if everyone with a computer or smart phone did it!

I'm treasuring my final days with our hummingbirds. They will be heading south soon. I'll miss them!

I clicked a few moments ago. The weather will be getting colder and as a community we are tying to find homes for kittens in our neighborhood.
