My question is this:

Do people really take the time to read all of a newsletter? I tend to skim or only read the beginning.

And so I assume others do the same.

Im so glad you're back Grace and I'm glad you're on the mend.

Lori, I tend to skim too.

I also unsubscribe to newsletters that are only trying to see me things.

There are times when I do read the complete newsletter.

Say it's a content rich newsletter, one that serves the literary genres or one that reports on their services with stories. How about those that actually place a good story in the newsletter, then leads you back to their site to find out more?

I find at times I would much rather read a newsletter all the way through than to click over to the website. I get to distracted when I go to websites because there's usually so much more there than I'm ready to explore. Sometimes I don't have the time to browse their sites. So I'm good with reading a newsletter all the way through.

So it comes down to preference. How do you prefer to read your newsletters? Some skim and some read the whole thing. You never know. This is why newsletter content calls for balance. Don't put everyone into the same category. Your subscribers are just as varied about reading your newsletters as there are newsletters to be read and website to be visited.

This is an area that I need to work on. I am LOSING newsletter subscribers for the marriage site yet gaining for the dreams site. It's not a surprise considering I've been providing rich content for the dreams site and less quality for the marriage site. frown

I will work on this subject this week.

Another question: Do you often receive email feedback from newsletter readers?
