What do you think of those grueling work-outs that you see on those television shows? You know, the shows like Biggest Loser and seriously obese people are put through STRENUOUS work-outs?

I worry that they'll have a heart attack or do some serious physical damage. Worst, it seems that the trainers are attaching bad feelings with working out.

If my work-out would cause me that much agony and exhaustion, I would NOT want to show up at the gym the next time. Yes, those types of work-out produce fast results, but I want to make exercise a pleasant part of my lifestyle.

Some people learn to associate those hard work-outs with pleasure, I suppose. They love to sweat and push their bodies. I've heard them say that it feels good.

I hope to get to that point where it feels good to work out. Not there yet.

Lori, I couldn't agree with you more. I have never felt that the Biggest Loser was as much motivational as it is degrading.

I also have worried about the participants health and thought the same thing, what if they have a heart attack.

However, I'm sure they are completely checked out and proven physically capable before they are chosen for the show.

I feel badly for the contestants who are eliminated because without the triumph of making it to their goal, they surely will stop those grueling work-outs on their own. They honestly need to just live a sustainable exercise program for life.

I am working on mine. Slowly but surely.

You keep working. Slow and sure is the best and safest!
