Ok. I'm hearing you. Tomorrow, no grains or sugar. And MORE exercise!

Lori - Don't beat yourself up too badly about food choices - it's good to strive to be healthy and to accept the ups and downs as you get there . Every little step helps! Your egg and tomato breakfast sounds awesome .

Thank you, Lisa, for reminding me of that. Every little step does help! There are great days and there are other days when I have to allow for the celebrations. It's just that we are a celebratory family, and with the terminal illnesses of our kids, we learned that every day should be celebrated!
I'm learning now to celebrate with healthier choices. My daughter and I made a list of the healthy foods we absolutely adore: oysters, seafood, fresh berries, nuts, etc. Such a long list will keep us happy for a while. Plus, she made some cheesecakes and realized that she can use some agave syrup to sub for the sugar and skip the crust. She's working on some healthier versions of old favs.
June 19: Breakfast-coffee Snack-0 Lunch-Broth, fried sliced Spam Snack-0 Dinner-Stir-fried onion, bell peppers, cabbage and sliced Polska Keilbasa sausage Dessert-0

I know I need to be better about excluding rice (it's a grain and hard on my glucose levels) but I am keeping the portions to a minimum. Just bought some cottage cheese as that was working out well for breakfast.

Lori - It sounds like you are making some great choices here! Are there any easy, healthy options you can have ready for breakfast, so you get something into you rather than nothing?

Yes, I realized that I needed protein in the morning so I picked up some cottage cheese.
June 26: Breakfast-coffee, cottage cheese Snack-0 Lunch-cucumber-tomato salad, three chunks of marinated chicken breast Snack-popcorn Dinner-Fresh greens w/ fresh strawberries, blueberries & almonds w/ raspberry dressing (from Wendy's. Small size.) Dessert-Garlic-chili oil edamame, 2 dill havarti cheese slices on whole grain crackers
I love eggs but I'm trying to move towards less animal protein. I'm going to add fish oil capsules and a multi-vitamin beginning tomorrow.
My family agreed to eat salads for dinner but then we get hungry later. I'll have to have some nuts and other healthy snack choices on hand!
