The following from a press release from Gaucho restaurants
Monday, 15 April 2013: Discover Argentina this April with World Malbec Day events at Gaucho restaurants across the UK where guests can taste the finest Argentinian wines whilst experiencing the best of South American cuisine in a week-long celebration.
Gaucho experts will educate and delight guests’ palates with produce from one of the world’s most famous wine producing countries – Argentina. Guests will be advised on the food pairing qualities of Malbecs to match Argentinian beef or can simply book in for a tasting of the finest Malbec wines in the UK.
On the day itself, April 17th, 40 Malbecs will be available to taste in the restaurant’s very own ‘Cavas de Gaucho’ (wine boutique) at Gaucho Piccadilly* – open to the public for free and overlooking the restaurant’s own Malbec vineyard. Guests will be transported to Argentina as they enjoy a glass of Malbec in Gaucho Piccadilly’s outside terrace, complete with trailing vines, grapes and grass.
Learn more in Leeds by attending Gaucho’s ‘Malbec Festival’ taking place on April 17th. Wine experts representing different wineries will be holding tastings at Gaucho Leeds throughout the day, teaching visitors about Argentina’s terroirs.
Groups of up to 14 can also enjoy in-depth masterclasses with the ‘Malbec 3d experience’, as Gaucho’s wine experts deconstruct Argentina’s most beloved grape for enthusiasts, learning about the varying altitudes from North to South and East to West Argentina.
* No pre-booking required for events at Gaucho Piccadilly and Gaucho Leeds
The ‘Malbec 3d experience’ costs £222 for up to 14 people. Please contact events (at) gauchorestaurants.com
