Several manufacturers are now making light weight pocket size shower bags, which I have used successfully on several backpacking trips, but I have not found any information on whether or not shower bags are allowed or used at Philmont. I have read water is in scarce supply at Philmont and bathing needs to be done 200 feet away from any from streams and ponds because they are a source of drinking water. I have also read permanent showers are few and far between, indeed we may have access to a permanent shower on only one or two days of our twelve day trek, and on those days Philmont recommends sponge bathing. So my question is, are pocket shower bags allowed to be used at Philmont?
