It's amazing how some movies stand the test of time. I was just watching Lethal Weapon on TV last night and it really is still very good. It's funny seeing the 80s hairstyles and such, but the storyline holds up.

I agree Lisa, the Lethal Weapon movies are some of the best. I just saw Lethal Weapon 4 on TV not long ago and I couldn't turn it off. And look at the Star Wars movies, with the original being made in the 70's. You would think that with all of the new technology those movies would be so out of date. I think that when a movie is made well, it does stand the test of time.

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are a great team and can do no wrong, when it comes to movies. They were well made. Nice action. Mel can take a beating and the forward and backward word play almost makes you think they are an old married couple.

Yes it was really cool watching them together, play off of each other. It was a very believable relationship. Sometimes a combination just works smile

And the power of it too - the depression Mel's character was going through, the angst and how he pulled through it. It was amazing to watch.

I don't think we ever see images of his wife and their relationship in flashbacks do we? It's been so long but I don't have an image of what she looked like but I remember the intense loss he felt.

He had a picture of her in the first movie that he was staring at, and then he goes to her grave. But no flashbacks in that one that I recall. His pain was just so believable ... you rarely see men in movies in that kind of emotional loss state. Especially not "heroes" who are generally supposed to be tough and solid.

Mel Gibson is good for that. It's been awhile but I remember a similar retching feeling I felt for his character when his wife and son were killed in Mad Max.

I haven't seen that movie in years. The third is the one I have watched more often from all of them. I know that I saw the sequel (i never watch movies out of order) but I do not remember the story of that one.
