Technology is playing such an important role in Africa today, especially in the rural communities. Here cell phones, smart phones and apps are helping with development, healthcare, education, bypassing corruption and helping businesses grow. Where geography is an obstacle phone technology has given communities access to knowledge and support.

An app called iCow is being used effectively in rural East Africa to send information to farmers with livestock about breeding, nutrition, disease, feeding schedules and when to expect their cows to be in heat.

You can imagine how important this information is in communities where 80% of the population farm their own land and rely on their livestock to remain healthy and productive.

Another brilliant idea that is transforming remotes part of the African continent!
