We own three muscle rollers -

I'm curious what rollers other people have, and what they think of them!

Lisa, mine is a foam roller. It's about 4 ft. long. I am writing a review on the Pro-Foam Roller and I will put the picture in.

The one with the spikes looks dangerous!

Terri -

Here's the simplest one we own, the Gold's Gym plain foam roller -

It's nice for yoga poses and basic exercising, but in terms of being a foam roller I don't find it works nearly as well as the other two. It barely "digs in" to any muscle group. So, comparing it with a masseuse, it's like a masseuse who just sort of slides her hand over your back. It doesn't give the massage I want, to help the knots get loosened.

Here's the middle of the group - the Pro-Tec Y roller. It has a pair of ridges which are either single or double lines on either side. I like it a lot -

It's great for my back. It doesn't press on the spine, which the plain foam roller does. It digs nicely into the back muscles. It's also good for the various leg muscles. It digs in reasonably well - but not nearly as well as the rumble roller (the third one). So this Y roller is my "main" roller I use.

Here, the third one, the best roller - the Rumble Roller.

I don't use this on my back. I am too "thin" and it presses into my ribs if I use it. Also, I don't want anything pressing on my spine for safety reasons. My boyfriend is thicker than I am and does use the Rumble Roller on his back.

This is AWESOME For legs though. The plain roller and Y roller barely feel like anything on my legs. But the knobby parts on the Rumble Roller are wonderful at pressing into my legs in various places and kneading the muscles. So this is definitely the one I want to use on my leg muscles.

Lisa, it may not be hard enough. Here's a link to the one I have: URL http://www.protherapysupplies.com/Shop-b...source=googleps

It is real firm and I lay on it length wise under me with my head and neck on the roller. It reaches all the way down past my sacrum and feels great. I've had a spinal fusion so I'm careful about any equipment I use on my back.

Terri, I took a look at your link...thanks for sharing - I was going to ask about what they cost and if there is a difference in price.

The one I have was $40.00. They come in different sizes and firmness and that influences the price. It depends on what you want to use it for. There are some foam roller exercise books but I only have one and it is Pilates Challenge. I haven't used it yet.

I don't roll on it because of my back problems I just use it for relaxation, let my muscles go totally lose.
