With more and more people beginning to turn to mother nature for their resources, it is only natural to turn to something that has been used for centuries to cure us. That is where the debate of herbs vs drugs comes in to play. Armed with the right information, you can decide what is best.

Herbs VS. Prescription Medication

Great article Bettina-

Just went to a health seminar Saturday. I have been taking herbs in place of medication for more than 20 years now. I was excited to learn more about the healing properties of certain herbs, vitamins, and minerals I did not have in my arsenal.

The thing I came away with most is making oils out of the herbs for aromatherapy treatments.

Your article reminds us that we have so much to learn from our ancestors and that alternatives to medication are something worth looking into.

Thank you kindly Yvonnie. I bet that seminar was great! You and I have been doing the "natural" thing for about the same time and even now I am still learning of new things to add to my long list of must haves.

Aromatherapy is a great way to add herbs to anyone's daily life and a great tip I can offer is having lavender oil on hand. I put some drops of it on my vacuum filter, so when you vacuum and it heats up, your home smells like lavender, it is wonderful!

I do hope that anyone who hasn't tried herbs or have been scared by someone, can go and talk to a health store or professional and really understand how good they are for us. After all, they have been around for thousands of year, can't say the same for the drugs you hear about. :-)

Great article, Bettina. I love that chamomile tea!

The last few times I came down with a cold, most likely from stress, I opted for some vitamins, minerals, and herbs for immune support instead of contacting my doctor for prescriptions. I got through it just fine and my symptoms did not last very long.

Thank you Debbie! I'm proud of you for going natural. I always believe that is the best way to go.
