I re-gift. Not because I am cheap but because I am given things that are so nice that I want others to enjoy them. They would only sit on a shelf and collect dust for me.

I agree with Lori. Sometimes, I know that a wonderful gift will just not be used, so I give it to somebody who can get good use from it.

Sometimes, I don't give these items on any special occasion either. Sometimes, I simply accept the gift with gratitude, keep the good will feeling but pass along the material item with new well wishes.
