My latest trip to the movies was a highly enjoyable visit to the year 1960, when Alfred Hitchcock was making Psycho - opinion varies on whether this was his best, or a not so good, movie.

I've always enjoyed Psycho, although it's not my all time favorite Hitchcock movie. It's hard to pick just one that stands out from Hitch's work, but North by Northwest and The Birds would be strong contenders.

This week's article looks at the newly released Hitchcock starring Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but as the article points out, it may not be a strictly accurate account of events.

All the Master of Suspense fans out there - what would you choose as your favorite Hitchcock movie? Or is it impossible to choose just one?

I absolutely love "Notorious" with Grant and Bergman! (1946)

I look forward to reading your comments.

Yes, both great choices. I could probably watch these more often than 'Psycho'.

I also love 'Spellbound' with Ingrid Bergman and Gregory Peck.

The Birds. That movie is one of my all time favorite (not top 10 but in the top 50). The only other movie of him that I did see is Psycho and I find it very bad.

I just saw 'The Girl' on TV, about Hitchcock's making of the 'The Birds' and his awful treatment of Tippi Hedren during filming. I don't think 'The Girl' was particularly good, but Tippi Hedren has said it's an accurate account of what she had to put up with.

It's a shame that such a brilliant film maker was such a complete SOB to work for!

I was going to say “Rear Window,” can’t believe I was going to choose that over “Dial M. for Murder”!!!!

Didn't like the birds. I saw it one time and that was enough.

I also saw "The Girl.” Yes it’s a shame that someone so talented could be such a jerk, and his poor wife! Well, at least he did the dishes…LOL…did you notice that in the movie? Hitch was domestic!
