Best family-friendly places in SD: Balboa Park, Cabrillo Monument, Seaport Village, Sea world and the two zoos, the botanical garden in Encinitas, Mission Bay park, the embarcadero waterfront downtown, boardwalk between Pacific Beach and Mission Beach, La Jolla Coves and Child's cove (SEALS!), Scripps Aquarium, Little Italy on a Farmer's Market day, Horton Plaza, Kobey's Swap Meet, Cass Street in Pacific Beach, Anza Borrego state park, Torrey Pines national monument.
Oh and Balboa park again, bc it's just that wonderful.
For adults, Hillcrest is very cool, as are the wineries and breweries. Hopping into Mexico, if you have a passport.
