It's called " "Random Act's of Kindness". They are selfless acts of kindness performed to either assist or cheer up someone. It's to inspire kindness in you and for you to inspire it to other's. Let's see if you can be inspired. A hug, a smile, a note or even holding the door open for someone, sounds like a few good gestures. Click on the link listed and see what other ideas you can come up with. Be careful it's contagious!

You can encourage your daughter to donate her used books to the library. She could put together care packs for the homeless. She could play her instrument for a seniors home. My daughter will be playing her instrument for a local seniors home on Friday. She is really looking forward to it - so am I.

Encourage your daughter to introduce herself to a new classmate. Thank your parent's, thank your bus driver. Say something nice to someone.

Remember a daughter's first love is her parent's. Tell her you love her today, not because it's "Random Acts of Kindness Week", not because it's Valentine's Day. But because she's your daughter. I take it back especially because it's Valentine's Day. Today around the world kids will hear valentine wishes and in some schools they allow cards and candy to be handed out. Your daughter may experience mixed feelings on the day and about her feelings for others. Tell her what love is and about how much you have for her on this day and other days. Also, include how you are looking forward to when she get's home so that you can enjoy the day with a healthy meal, with some sweets to top it off. Let her know that even though it's a school night a good home movie or games will be included. And although you will be exhausted from your day. It's important to make her day worth while, you'll feel good about your day as well. It will be a mentally healthy day to have family time.

Don't forget it's kindness week and spread the love just because. Have fun!

P.S. Thank you for participating in this weeks activity as well as today's Valentine wishes for your daughter. My act of kindness is to say "Thank You"

Tell your daughter a kind gesture - you love her. Tell her how important she is to your life - this day in your life.

Go to the library and put dollar bills which say "pass on kindness" randomly into books....

.... put coins in vending machines so the next consumer has a "soda on you"....

.... leave thank you notes for your teachers - especially PE, art, and music.....

Eat a healthy snack, share a toy with a friend, write a thank you note. All are gestures of kindness - do you have any?
