Great article, Yvonnie. I know that there are things that I have made peace with, and others that I allow to haunt me. One of the things that I am most grateful for is how my children helped me understand my mother and to let go of past hurts.

So much of our present day luggage comes from the relationships we have had with our parents in the past. Saying, "OK, I get it and can accept that this is who/where you are. This is how I will deal with it peacefully." is a powerful transition into improving you.

So, while your children are marvelous conduits and Instructors for your healing, you are the brilliant one for comprehending and acting accordingly.

Good for you Connie!!!

Meredith-

I am happy that you have found a way to be at peace. It is valuable to our "whole health"; mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

Hi Yvonnie,

I just read your article, and Wow it really touched a lot of chords within me.

Thank You.

My Mother grew up in a violent home, and had seen her mother beaten at a tender age.

That trickled down to me.

I'm 51, and very passively accept the hurts.

But, your practical understanding and ability to articulate that into useful tools in your article is very soothing to me.

Thank You,

Burt B. smile

Burt-

Thank you for sharing. It touches my heart that my words touch your heart.

I think it is the mission of every writer, here at Belleonline.com, or anywhere in the world, to touch and inspire others. I, for one, have a desire that my words spark something in readers; something that will help them create healing and unconditional love within.

Your words sparked a light in me; reenergizing me in the work that I do.

Thanks again Burt.
