The Cerne Abbas Giant is a huge chalk figure carved into a Dorset hillside - his age has never been verified.

How cool. It is carved in the ground. This is similar to the Nazca Lines in Peru.

Hi Angie

I would say the Giant is similar yet different. My understanding of the Nazca Lines is that they incorporate numerous animal and vegetable images. The Giant stands alone. Both are best viewed from above...

Anthony Horowitz's series The Power Of Five (the books in this series are classed as those for teenagers, but I believe they have lot to teach adults) incorporates the Nazca Lines.

I could have done, Peter, and I confess the thought did cross my mind... I've put a link below to the National Trust site which has a clear picture of him (apart from the fact that he is cut off towards the bottom of the picture)...
