Since,Inever listen to radio or tv news,Idid not know who had won the elections.

Went to breakfast at my usual restaurant....First page,OBAMA had won.

Tears came to my eyes ,I even let go ,a big yes,in the restaurant.

This is one area (with respect) we'll have to kind of well, lol, agree to disagree.

I don't "see" "feel" what you describe, but, I'm trying to understand what's coming through.

It took me all day to find someone who could explain, without...I just kind of called myself dim-witted, pertaining to politics, but described things and just said, pretend a 3rd grader were to ask these questions.

Explain, in terms or definition what my "description" or "feeling" might be.

When someone,s life is based on love truth,justice,respect for all types of people
On generosity ,those that represent these noble virtues,are well liked by people like me.When during the campaing,if you spoke to a canadian,a great respect was given to obama.This is the way Obama is seen by Canadians.

With respect for mr romney,he did not seem to have the compassion to rebuild the U.S.A.
The only american president that the people of Canada identified with was JFK.

Elleise, Since the election I have turned off almost all news - My feeling is that I cannot control what happens in the national arena so concentrating on local events and friends is now paramount. Finding good candidates for the next election is imperative. I generally do not mind that the politicians dont' pass a lot of stuff but when it is significant, negotiating is a must. I just found that during the past four years, all segments of government and the country have become so polarized and all media wear blinders and only see their point of view to the point that it has become ridiculous and sad.

Angie, I'm glad the election is over. I did not like the campaigns on either side - so much negativity. Yet it continues by people who plan to spend the next four years complaining. Wouldn't it be a nice world if the government learned to work together. I think it's time to focus on rebuilding lives.

The elections are done and over...it's time to move on.

We have to remember we are the government - people there represent us - that is why it is important to find people who will work together - we're all in this together. It is a very complicated pattern we are weaving.
