I received a gardening catalog. My pots need an overhaul and I have to decide just what I want to plant this spring. My parsley is still growing although it may have frozen under the snow Thursday night.

OMGoodness ... Angie what a lovely task lies ahead for you!

Some reminders will include:

+ Clean out your pots thoroughly; throw any-all soil away or into the garden, scrub out your containers with white vinegar water; (halfhalf is a good mix).

+ When you are ready to plant them up again, line the containers with black-white printed or plain newsprint.

+ The newspaper is biodegradable and keeps your plant roots protected for warmth in winter and 'coolth' in summer.

+ Doing this would also be a waterwise move.

What a great chance you have now to grow your favourites of course, but to try some new plants for fun and variety and all and all.

Good luck!

Cheers
