Be honest, are they still up? Today is the day to take them down. Post here if they are still up and (better still) post if you take them down.

Full confession, I've just noticed my Christmas cards are still up!

They are down, but the boxes are still sitting in the middle of my living room, which is unusual. I usually put it all away New Year's weekend. Good thing through, I've been walking past one of the wreaths I hang in a hall way, and just took that off the wall last night. Funny that you should post this today...LOL...

I just threw away my Christmas cards. I think that's the last of the decorations.

My Christmas cards are still up - on purpose, because my birthday is over Christmas and I hang all the cards together ...

BTW, Tina, I reuse Christmas cards by cutting off the front cover and taping to a plain notecard - maybe ways to recycle cards would make a good article for your site.

We get a ton of Christmas cards at work. At their request, we donate them to a senior center for re-purposing.

It is a cultural practice for me to be sure that everything is put away and stored by New Year's Day. Usually, I put up my decorations on Thanksgiving weekend and take down Christmas a few days after the 25th. Everything needs to be fresh and clean by New Year's Day.

It is a very Japanese thing to do in order not to carry on any "baggage" from the previous year and clear the way for good luck of the new one!
