When I was a child reading the book Heidi, I thought it was neat that she toasted goat cheese on bread over an open fireplace. In my 20s I bought some hard orange goat cheese to try out--and it was yucky! Much later in life, I somehow got the chance to try soft goat cheese, or chevre, and fell in love with the creamy texture and mild tang. Now I'm addicted! I also love goat brie, though sadly that is much more expensive, so I rarely eat it.

On the other hand, one of my sisters thinks it's disgusting--any goat cheese--and reminds her of the buck goat we kept, growing up on a farm where our mother raised Nubian goats. Ah, she needs to be converted!

Let us know your experiences with goat cheese, and whether or not you're a fan!
