I really like your idea. I must admit I'm not quite certain what a tiered merit program is. Or a self-development program.
Can you give me more specifics of what you had in mind. I'll also check the chat log since I had left the room by the time self-development was discussed.
I am planning an ebook but have not gotten around to writing it yet. But great minds must think alike, because I was planning it to be a beginner's guide/basics of investing.

It's like setting up little challenges that will help people build their investment knowledge or their financial portfolio. Each challenge will be harder to achieve. BOL will be setting this up for several of the channels to start. Each editor will be given the opportunity to design the challenges for her own topic. I am in need of financial education so I look forward to your book. Please make it very simple to understand!

That is a very good point!
I shared this quote because of a radio report I heard a week or two ago. A man, who was either a millionaire or billionaire, was talking about how he started with nothing and through hard work he attained his money. Now, he said, he had the problem of how to teach his children about money. He wanted them to have a good life with better circumstances than when he grew up. And yet the fact that he had to work for his success is what made him so wealthy. He isn't seeing that in his children.

I've always liked him. I can't know personally but he seems level headed. Hopefully, his kids will learn by comparison to other celebs. On a side note, I just recently watched Punch-Drunk Love for the first time (it's 11 years old). I loved it. He has a wider range than some people give him credit for.

Luckily, I never had that problem with my children. Luckily--I think. On the other hand, not sure I would have minded. It does seem that instilling values should be finance-free. I think of the Romney children, who seem to have inherited decent values despite growing up affluent.
