Can you imagine if we performed our jobs like the Congress and Senate are currently performing their jobs? Imagine if you waited until the last minute to complete a crucial project that you have known about for months (more like years) that could potentially have a devastating outcome.

This isn't a democrat or republican conversation, it's a conversation about getting the job done to satisfy your "customers". It's about working together as a team to get the job done!

Do you think you would still have a job if you operated the same way?

Definitely wouldn't have a job. I get paid on production. Sometimes, I wish our lawmakers got paid on production and got a penalty if they didn't produce quality work. I know they can be voted out of office but it still doesn't seem to deter them from doing shoddy work.

I absolutely agree Trish, if we operated the way they do - we would absolultely be out of a job. Unfortunately they operate the way they do so many may be out of a job.

I know it was "sticker shock" when I got my first paycheck of 2013. I know we should have treated the lower social security as a gift, but for me it was cash I absolutely needed as a single mom.

Good point Dianne. I think everyone will have "sticker shock". Funny how the politicians didn't say anything about the "payroll" tax cut expiring.
2% sounds so small but it can really add up. And, unfortunately, there is no tax-avoidance techniques to get out of it.

So true Sandra! It may not seem like much, but it was definitely a noticable difference. I thought it was interesting though, there were still employees who had questions about their checks - they really had removed themselves from watching what was going on in the news and the economy.
