It is my goal to help bring fun and entertaining recipes and ideas into the forum and my articles. I am the new Holidays/Seasonal Cooking editor and I loooove cooking. Feel free to ask questions, answer questions and truly participate. I want to create an entertaining fun atmosphere that we all can enjoy. If you are posting a business product please ask me first so I can decide if it is valid and useful. Lets all have a great time creating memorable meals. Go get a nice cup of beverage of your choice and lets get started. Thanks again Gillian Scianna

I went on a wonderful New Year's Day cooking spree. I was in the kitchen for three days prior to New Years' Day. I made sauerbratan and red cabbage with spaetzel. I had to marinade the meet myself as we do not have a butcher shop that supplies specialty meats. It turned out really nice.

During the holidays I made a resolution to go through all the recipes that I have collected during my lifetime, tried and not tried, sort them, and using them plan meals. I'll toss the ones that no longer interest me and keep the ones that turn out really good.

I like you idea about going through all the old recipes and getting rid of the ones that no longer hold any interest - let me know how it went for you and I'll do the same.

About rating recipes I started this when my kids were growing up - each new recipe was rated 1-4, with 4 being the best. Anything rated below 2.75 I did not cook again. I wrote the vote on the recipe.

I've tossed and reorganized recipes but still have a long ways to go. I am doing some meal planning (something I never did while working) and trying recipes. Some are keepers and many are not. I'm creating a new "cookbook" of my own with winners.
